Looking for information on Corpsman James Riley Ledbetter KIA March 12th 1968. Not sure of his Marine unit he served with. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Came across your site. Came in the Navy as a reservist in Jan 70, boot camp March 70, then back to the reserves until dec 70 and on to HCS in Jan 71, and on to Bremerton(April 71) , then to Naval Dispensary Seattle(Feb 72-Sep 73), HCS C School X-Ray Technician School(Sep 73-Oct74). After that I served with 1st Marine Brigade, HMH 463 from Nov 74-Dec 76. Evacuated Saigon in 75. The 1st Marine Brigade at KMCAS was entirely on alert as we had possible orders to go back into NAM which never did occur. After that I was transfewrred to Guam then released to inactive duty and returned to the reserves. Stayed there until July 84 and was sent to Oakland (84-86) on to Yokosuka (86-88), back to Oakland (88-93), USNS Mercy(93-96) and finally recruiting from (96-00) and am now retired. As a retiree I have less quality of life then I had on active duty.
I do miss the Navy and if I to do it all over again, I still would join the Navy.

Found your site and think it is great. Hope things are going well for you and the rest of our friends who wore dixi cups for a while and Marine Green for a while. Now I am a chiropractor and have been in practice since '72. Meet lots of Marines in my practice but few prior corpsmen... not many of us or not many of us left?
