Looks like you and hung out in the same area, and caught some of the same bugs. I also spent some time on the Sanctuary. There were some real wonderful people on that ship. There are many things I recall from my time in country, but none so special as looking up from a bunk seeing a couple of corpsman talking about me. I knew it all was going to be well.

May I say with GREAT respect, I admire your page! I have a great deal of military family, daughter of a WWII navyman, the wife of a "Doc"4th Mar Div 123rd, Houston Resrv. -My husband was sched. to ship out to Persian Gulf by one day after cease fire was called and I already had two brothers in the middle of it all, one on the Wisconsin (He was a few month shy of being drafted in the 70's) and one on a mine sweeper, (that "missed" one and took a hit. My bro-in-law is former Doc also, now in Crypto.
I wish I still had my POW braclet that I wore in the early 70's. Always wondered...so I Keep a MIA/POW link on my homepage!

I am a nineteen year old college student in Wisconsin, and our creative writing class is putting together a book of veterans' war stories from Fond du Lac County. One of the veterans I interviewed mentioned being in Sasebo during the riots because of the nuclear sub, which lead me to your site. It's such a small world. Thanks for making such a great site!!
