Thanks Doc. I just sent you a long winded account of my military history -- asking to be accepted to your "Corps Grunts." By the way....I just remembered another troop. He was a Navy Corpsman PERMANENTLY assigned to the Marine Corps. He said he had never served anywhere EXCEPT with the Marine Corps. Of course, we only knew him as "DOC." ... but, he went everywhere Gen Buse went, too. And he was always a trainer for Gen Buse's ball teams. He helped me with the Hawaii Marine Football team in about 1970. He had a bag of pills with him all the time; some for fumbles, blocked kicks, missed tackles, or any other problem a ball player may have. Later. Thanks. --Jim Payne

I was with 11th Engineers 1966 rvn, 2/3 fox-golf-h&s 1967-68. I participated in 33 combat operations while FMF in RVN. Wounded at Khe Sanh during the May 67 Hill battles on 881n. Retired in 1985 and I now run one of the RV parks on base in Key West, Florida.
