Family Counseling operates a residential treatment camp for sexually abused children. In two years we have treated over 150 children free of charge. We are now looking to buy a permanent site. I know this was a dream of Sheldon's, so I had hoped to contact him and let him know.

Thanks for the useful information. I too am researching a paper on Sheldon and what he has done for child abuse. Part of my paper will focus on the negative impact that public perception played in Sheldon's attempt to create the Foundation and the Ranch, the ethical issues involved and the end results.

I am very glad I stumbled across your web page for Sheldon Kennedy. Since I am from the Detroit area, I watched Sheldon play for the Red Wings from 1991-1994 and as a teenager back then, I was in love with him. I went to a lot of his autograph signings, had tons of pictures of him, saved all the articles about him (even the alcohol related ones) and watched all of his games in a red wing's uniform. But then Sheldon was traded and I started to grow out of the hockey groupie stage and began dating guys. But then, 3 years after Sheldon was traded from Detroit, I heard the news of him being sexually violated. It broke my heart. I cried and cried. But I think he is so strong to stand up for what he beleives in and tell his story. That is why I am writing you. I never was able to see "Sheldon Kennedy- A man of courage" or see "The Sheldon Kennedy Story" and that is why I am looking on the web for anyone who has these movies. I will send you blank VHS tapes to tape them for me and I will cover the cost of shipping. Whatever you need me to do to get ahold of them, I will.
