I'm very interested in becoming a member of Phi Beta Sigma Inc. I've always showed interest since I've met a couple at the black leadership conference at Texas A&M. I'm no longer in school I've started working for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. What I want to know is there anyway possible that I can become a member of Phi Beta Sigma Inc. without being in a University?

On your "Famous Sigma's" list you listed Carter G. Woodson. He is not a Sigma, he was the 7th Honorary member of Omega Psi Phi. visit

Why does Phi Beta Sigma insist on stealing Omega Psi Phi's legacy. On your "Famous Sigma's" list you listed Carter G. Woodson. He is not a Sigma, he was the 7th Honorary member of Omega Psi Phi. To verify this you can read "THe History of Omega Psi PHi 1911-1939" by Herman Dreer. Or visit

I saw an error on your Famus Sigma's list. It is my experience that Phi Beta Sigma has a bad history of fabricating. Carter G. Woodson a Sigma, are you KIDDING MY!!! He was the 7th honorary member of Omega Psi Phi. Read "The History of Omega Psi Phi 1911-1961" by Robert Gill. Go onto any Omega site and you will see the name Carter G. Woodson. If Sigma produced greater scholars, they wouldn't need to fabricate their Famous Sigma's list.
