I grew up in Simi Valley (1962-1978) and absolutely adored "grandma's" bottle village. I remember her kindness and soft voice as she proudly took my brothers and I on a tour. The round bed facinated me and I always wondered how she got it in there?! It broke my heart when I saw how the village had begun to disappear. The story behind this magical place is not to be missed!

I drive by the village almost every day. I have lived in Simi for almost 11 years and have never enjoyed our history until today. This place is truely remarkable. But it is in need of some help. I myself plan on making donations, but I think it is very important that the people of our community get involved. I will share this info with everyone I know here in town. Since my visit I introduced the Bottle Village link to the people at the Watts Towers State Historical Monument, who had never heard of it and guess what? I received this email from one of the State Park employees.

What a fascinating place this was to visit. I could have spent lots of time just looking at the assorted items embedded in the walkways. It's amazing to see what was created here. I made a little tribute and a memento of my visit last Saturday afternoon. Enjoyed the souvenir book I bought too!
