I would like to hear your reference for Alexander Luckie, Sr. being the father of James (marr. Rebecca Lane), Alex. Jr., and others. I have found another reference that says their father was Edward Luckey (or Lokey). Also, wasn't Elizabeth a sister to Violet in this family? Hope I will hear from you. This Luckie family gets very confusing!

You are to be commended on this site - It shows up as a lot of hard work and imagination. My Great Grandfather Jason W. Harper (1821-1889) Married Sarah Elizabeth White (1829-1901) in Hart Co. Ga.(which was originally Franklin Co.) on the 12th November 1846 and they with two sons migrated to Pickens Co. Al. in 1858. I have the White Family dating back to William G.W. White (1753-1829) and will be glad to share info on Harper's, Whites, Crocker's and Brooks in Ga. and Harper's, Whites, James, Koons, Junkins and many others from Pickens County Alabama Thanks for letting me share with you this tribute to the Harpers of old. These early settlers were tough people. They came to this country with nothing but a strong back and a dream and they took the land alloted them and in a few days they built a log house and cleared land for a garden. In those days people trusted one another and that trust developed into a Bond that allowed them to survive this harsh land. Ray Harper b, 1926 (a living generation)
