My gf was John Marion Harper b. 1840 near Atlanta. His parents were Jesse Harper and Samantha Shelton. Just began my search but can't find out much about Jesse and Samantha other than they were both born in GA. Samantha was born in 1820 (I believe). She is buried alone in Navarro Co, TX.

My name is Paul F. Harper b1962. My father was Victor Debs Harper b1921, My grandfather was Jasper Dykes Harper b1869 and my great grandfather was Leroy (Mack) Michael Harper b1827. This is where I lose the trail. Any info you may have on Leroy Michael Harper's ancestry would be greatly appreciated. My dad was from Al, but I know Jasper and Leroy were from GA, Randolph county I believe or at least northwest GA. Thanks again for any help.

I can only trace my Harper family to the mid 1800's. My Great-Great Grand father was Henry Edward Harper (a blacksmith) married to Jo Ann Crane-Harper. Maybe someone knows something. The subsequent generations settled in the Michigan, Illinois, Misouri areas. Don't even know for-sure whether we're Scottish or English.

I am a grand-daughter to Myrtle Mae Harper, Mardsen Harper, William Foster Harper, Alvis Harper from Texas. The Gonzales Texas area. I grew up in Texas and now live in Ohio.
