I Have a legal plan that will help protect us as foster parents from allegations,since our agencies always take a step back approach. I pay $3.50 per week that will help me to have protection from an attorney that specializes in the particlar area of law that us as foster parents are faced with on a day to day basis. I loved the plan so much that I decided that I would market the plan and become an advocate for foster parents all over america since all the advocates are usually for the child, and not for the foster parents who subject themselves to sometimes horrific behavior that is brought on by foster kids. I'm a single woman with know bio kids of my own. I've been a foster parent for four years. I have a allegation against me from a kid I had been complaining about from day one but, the county did nothing. Now, I'm being falsely accused. They removed him along with his two sisters from my home. I was going to adopt the sisters his behaviors was to out of control. I had them almost a year. I cry every night I miss them so. Being single I don't really have much support. I was never told about this dark side of fostercare. I will fight this and for the kids. But, it is wiping me out. Please pray for me.

read our comments and you have your first INDIANA allegations to put on the state page. contact us for more info or a better write-up. reading all this made me feel creepy-crawly inside and brought back some of the feelings of horror from 96-97. our adopted teens and our foster kids-from 8 to 15 were all very special needs--we were third allegation for the oldest adopted boy-17-all were not substantiated. By the way,4 of our 6 adopted came in the 80's before full disclosure laws in Indiana. We were told nothing while examples of their aberrant behavior were right in front of the sw's! We eventually felt like lambs set up for slaughter. We were made to attend parenting classes (we had taught those for 3 years!) and treated at them like poison by all the bio-parents. We were made to attend anger and abuse classes. We ourselves began immediate counseling at our local Youth for Christ. They wisely led us through a time of grief counseling and then handed us Attachment Disorder books. We had never heard of it but knew what was wrong with these older kids of ours as soon as we read the books.God was good and guided us to a counselor who was retired from many years as Dean of Special Education from Taylor University!! She could absolutely relate to us and was a comfort to us.
