I am not a foster parent nor have I ever been, but I have fought false allegations in order to keep my daughter. Very long story, but I proved a social worker inept in court, and later got her fired. She was guilty of medical neglect of my daughter by blocking the foster mom from taking my two month old daughter to the doctor for what became a severe thrush infection by the time she came home, three weeks after removal. My daughter was literally starving to death from refusal to eat due to the pain, yet the social worker would not let the foster mom take her to the doctor. Had I not gotten her back so quickly, I fear I would have been burying my daughter instead of having a wonderful seven year old here now!!! God bless you, the system needs good foster parents. Aligations can be devistating and so unfair to foster parents!! I agree things need to be changed.

Yes, we are being investigated for abuse of foster children also. Scheduled to meet with CPS today to interview my children, spouse and myself. I knew this was going to happen, but hopefully CPS will look at all the evidence and speak directly with their Therapist, who also knows of their false allegations in the past with each placement.

I am glad for places like this. We just left fostercare after 10 yrs and 5 adopted specail needs children. We left due to tall fo this..3 of our close freinds ahaev been wrongfully accused adn we didn't want to be next. Thank you Toni Claus

I am thankful for the new rules concerning allegations. We were able to get our children back after a few months and the allegations proved false

We are considering becoming foster parnents...we have 4 daughters of our own.....this is my one hang up...I am so afraid of the false allegation issue...my husband is also in law enforcment and I was comforted by that.....but now I am not so sure...thank you for taking your time to tell your story

I came across your site and openly wept as I read your story. I am still in tears and I feel I really need to know how things have worked out for you, since it is now early 2006. As a child I was placed in foster care on 2 ocassions while my mother was forced into treatment for an ongoing mental illness. My mother eventually overcame her demons and was a wonderfully loving, supportive and guiding light in my life. I am now 35 years old and my mother and I are exceptionally close. However, I have never forgotten those self sacrificing guardian angels that loved me and stood by me in my time of need. Although I was only 6 and 7 years old at the times of my placements, the experiences were so profound that I very vividly remember my experiences. This would forever shape my view of people who choose to open their homes to these needy and often unwated, forgotten children. People like you and your husband are rare in a society of money and materialy obsessed runabouts. I have nothing but the deepest rerspect and admiration for you and your cause.
