We too have been accused falsely, we have undergone an "interview" with the local police. The child first said she had been raped, then changed the story to have being touched innapropriately. Has even told the social worker, she doesn't "even know what rape is" The County Social Services Dept. we have had a good relationship for the past 2 years, has stepped back and indicated they are "not involved". It is basically the kids word against ours. We are terrified at the repercussions, are in suspense,because we suspect, the child accused us because we did not want to adopt her. She had shown a devious side in the previous home as well. I so regret having entered this program! Has Anyone else in Nevada had this problem? Should we get an attorney? We cant afford one, we can barely make our mortgage payment. We have one biological daughter that has been questioned, and she is outraged at the accusation as well. Please give some advice!

Dear [recipient name was inserted here], My name is Tameka Gibson- Williams and i'm writing due to false accusations that have been made against me involving Children and Youth Services of Delaware County. In September of 2004, I was ask by the agency to take in my neice. I agreed and began making arrangments for my neice to come in to my home. I had to comply with everything they asked me to do and was more than willing because, I didn't want the child to end up in foster care. I am married and a mother of six children; I was told that two of my children would have to stay with my mother and we would have to relocate due to not having enough room in our home. No problem, we did that and the child was able to come live with us. The stipulations that the agency made was that the child couldn't see her mother, my sister, unsupervised. I always followed their rules and didn't have any problems. We were on our way to adopting my neice, when suddenly, I received a call from a social worker asking me to return my neice because I allowed unsupervised visits with her mother. I told them that this wasn't true so, they said they'd do an investigation. The very next day thaey told me to return the child or i'd be brought up on kidnapping charges. I had been asking the agency to allow my neice to be tranfered to our school district and they wouldn't respond. The agency has dealt with our family unfairly,telling me to get over it, I'll never see my neice in my home again and they also stated that my mother was making it hard for me to follow their rules. This is not the case; no one in our family can get the child back. We don't have any criminal records but i've been told by the agency that i'm listed as a unreliable resource and wouldn't be able to help any family member if they needed our help. I started a protest to stop this unfair treatment a week ago and it's been in the news paper(The Daily Times on Thursday) Today I was told by a worker that I should watch my back because my children are at risk of being taken. That I should be aware of the length people woul go to cover themselves. My husband is so afraid to send our children to school and my children are afraid someone will come after them. This just isn't fair, We need help and quickly. I beleive in obeying and following the law. This is so unfair. I also believe in keeping the family together and I have not been able to do that based on these false accusations. My neice wants to come back home to her own family.
