Noah's Ark It began when god popped his head through the the clouds and said: Oh you wicked wicked children what a mess this place is in all the violence and coruption it really is a sin I turn my back for five aeons (I've got other work to do) keeping the universe tidy and thanks from you you've grown selfish and conceited your manners are a disgrace you come and go just as you please you'd think you owned the place a telling off's not good enough you've grown to big for you're flesh so I think I'll wash my hands of you and start again afresh.

Your Poem:
The Song of The Shirt With fingers weary and worn, with eyelids heavy and red, A woman sat, in unwomanly rags, Plying her needle and thread- Stitch! Stitch! Stitch! In poverty, hunger, and dirt, And still with a voice of dolorous pitch She sang the 'Song of the Shirt'. "Oh, men with sisters dear! Oh,Men with mothers and wives! It is not linen you're wearing out, But human creatures' lives!" Stitch!-stitch-stitch, In poverty, hunger, and dirt, Sewing at once, with a double thread, A Shroud as well as a shirt. "But why do I talk of death? That Phantom of grisly bone, I hardly fear its terrible shape, It seems so like my own. Stitch! stitch! stitch! In poverty, hunger and dirt, And still with a voice of dolourous pitch, Would that its tone could reach the rich! She sang this 'Song of the Shirt'

Any comments about why you wrote it? I like this poem because I like the rain.

Your Poem:
Rainy Nights I like the town on rainy nights When everything is wet- When all the town has magic lights And streets of shining jet! When all the rain about the town Is like a looking glass, And all the lights are upside down Below me as I pass. In all the pools are velvet skies, And down the dazzling street A fairy city gleams and lies In a beauty at my feet.

Your Poem:
Once I was round a friend's place Once I was round a friend's place and just as we were going out he went over to the table and picked up a hard lump of chewed up chewing gum with teeth marks in it off the table top and stuffed it in his mouth His Gran was there and said, "You're not taking that filthy thing with you are you"? and he said to me "Quick lets get out of here"
