my name is wade hearld & i went to pine mountain settlement school around 1977 & i live at evarts & i stayed at fred lewis on the weekdays & went home on friday the lewis let me stay with them so i could go to school because the bus didnt run from evarts to harlan..i would love to hear from all my old friends that i went to school with & my friend that i stayed with at fred lewis house...i also stayed at preston & elain lewis who was my princiable & real good friend...thanks to everyone that kept me in there home so i could go to school..my grandparents was sara & ed smith from putney they were fire ranger my grandma was fire ranger at blackmountain & my grnadpa was fire ranger at little shephred trail & they move from putney to the cabin at little shephred trail..if anybody knew my grandparents please let me know they had 2 son eddie & william...

1959 graduate of BLACKSTAR High School & somewhat of the secretary of the class. I do have most all of the current address'es of the class of 1959.
We (class of 1959) do have a reunion every year or so.
I have also been doing family tree research on the HENSLEY family of Harlan County for many years. I would be interested in hearing from anyone with ties to the HENSLEY family of Harlan & Bell Counties.

I am doing some research on my recently deceased Father. My Father name was Bill Partin and often referred to as "Big Jim". His parent were Dolly and Vester Partin. Born 1932 in Evarts. Went to Black Moutain School and graduated high school probably about 1950.

I was born at Wallins and grew up on
Stright Creek. I went to Green
Hills,then to Pine Mountian then on to
Loyall High School. It would have been
in the late 1950 and early 1960. I still
love Harlan Co. and return home as much
as I can. I still family living there.
