Iwent to school in the church near Lawrence Lankford's store 3rd. grade and 4th. in the new school.Teacher Fern Skidmore. 5th.cambell and Janette Fields 6th.Man From Little Creek,I forgot his name and I liked him too. 7th.Effie M. Lackey 8th William Clerence McFarland Jr.2nd.:)My last year 1952. I still have my 51-52 year book. You may use my picture if you like.

I'm sort of surprised that there aren't more names on here. I went to school there just before it burned and then I went in the new building. John Henry Ellis was the principal. His wife was a teacher also. Bascom Dean was the janitor. Some of the teachers were: Ethel Skidmore, Fern Skidmore, Alberta Woodward who had a cork leg, Mrs. Lackey, Mrs. Flora Cawood. During the war they seerved lunches for a nickel in the store just across the road where Lawrence Lankford's store wound up. Mr. Ellis had a new Hudson and told all the kids to stay away from it. I can remember a lot of the kids who went to schoolthere but don't reckon there is any use in makiing note of them here. It's nice to know there is a website like this, but it too , like us will up and die someday. Which is the way it should be for there will be no one who knows us who attended Cawood Grade School at Cawood Kentucky: MY HOME

I went to Cawood School from 1949 thru 1954 and we went to school in the church at the top of the hill while they were building the new school. My father was Homer Osborne and my mother was Daisy [Nolen] Osborne.I give permission to use my photo on the web site. thanks for the trip down memory lane. I saw some of my teachers also.
