I have enjoyed your site... I was born in Cawood in 1954.. We lived in Saw Mill Hollow (Holler)lol when I was little and later on moved out of state.. I have a lot of happy memories of times spent with my Grandma and cousins who lived there.. My Moms side of the family are Halls and Napiers... My Grandma lived in a little green and white house on the "old back road" ..My Dads family were Lankfords and lived in Crummis and later moved to Wallins Creek... I know my Mom would love to hear from old friends.. some of you may remember her name ... Ada Napier, now Ada Lankford .. We have been away from Harlan county and Cawood for many years but it will always be home...

I spent the first 5 years of school in Crummies Creek. We lived in Ten Spot. My father, Critt Ball, worked in the coal mines there. Moved to Cawood, where I spent the 6-8th grades of elementary school. Attented Hall High School 61-65. Cumberland College 65-69, Western Kentucky University 70-73. Taught school for 28 years. My twin brother Larry past away this year in September. I have twin sisters (Barbara & Norma Faye), sister annabelle whom are still living. Love your site. Would love to hear from old Crummies, Cawood, & Hall High School buddies.
