I was born in Bloomington, Indiana to Doris Brummett Fallis, the daughter of Mildred Lanam and Ross Brummett. My parents moved to Arizona in 1951 and the last vist I made to Bloomington was in 1958. Both my parents are dead, but I would love to know about other relatives since it is only my sister, brother and myself remaining.

I'm originally from Bloomington, IN and my genealogy research led me to this site. My abbreviated family tree is: Mother - Ann (Lanam) Martin of B'ton, IN - she can probably fill in any missing gaps in the Monroe County, IN Lanam family tree under Commodore for anyone who is interested; Grandfather - Earl Lanam of B'ton, IN - buried in Mount Gilead Cemetary, Monroe County IN; G. Grandfather - Commodore Lanam of B'ton, IN - buried in Mount Gilead Cemetary, Monroe County, IN; G.G. Grandfather - Hugh Lanam, born in Noble, Co. Ohio and buried in Lanam Ridge Cemetary, Brown County, IN; G.G.G. Grandfather - James Lanam, born in Noble, Co. Ohio in 1803 - brother of John Lanam, who donated land for Lanam School in Noble Co. Ohio. So I guess that makes me a distant cousin of any Lanams still in Noble County Ohio.

I am the grandson of Charles Ross Lanam of Bloommington, IN who was the son of John Craven Lanam. Without knowing it I have named my sons after both realitives. Great site!! Thanks for doing the work on it. I am interested in the Lanam listed in the 1850 census as Elijah Lanam. He gave birth to my grandfather in Sangamon County, Illinois. My father was born in Colorado and I was born in South Dakota, but now live in Illinois. I guess our branch of the tree were travelers! Has anyone been able to figure out the Lanams from Ohio. They seems to have been there up through the 1850's, but after that they just moved away.
