My daughter was born on 5-29-04, weighing 1 lb, 9 oz, and 12 3/4" length. She had intrauterine growth retardation secondary to pre-eclampsia. She was in the NICU for 83 days, and came home with oxygen and monitors for 2 months. She is now 15 months old, and is a beautiful, healthy girl. She is perfect in every way (eating, talking, sitting, crawling, rolling) except that she is taking her time in wanting to stand or walk. I read this guestbook every day when she was in the hospital for insight from other preemie parents, and was inspired (and relieved) by all the success stories. To all the 'new' preemie moms and dads, it WILL get easier. The intensity of the NICU is overwhelming and scary, but each day will get a little brighter. And once you bring your little one home, each day will bring a new joy. Because we know how hard they have struggled, your heart will burst with pride at every tiny milestone they achieve. Stay strong for your little one, because you know they have been strong for you.

Our preemie just came home last week after a month and a half NICU stay which included surgery. He is on an apnea monitor, but healthy and happy. We've detailed our struggles and joys on our blog: http://meetthebreeders.blogspot.com

My son was taken by emergency c-section on June 25, 2005... He wieghed 2 lbs. 10 oz. He spent 6 weeks in the NICU and finally came home 3 weeks ago... on oxygen of course... but I couldn't be happier to have him home... I'ts very refreshing to read about other parents and preemies... makes me feel like I'm not alone in this new world of motherhood.

My son Weseley Nathaniel ("Nate the Great") was born on April 8, 2005 at 25 weeks 6 days gestational age. He weighed 1 lb 13 oz at birth and had many of the scares that preemies do. But after 100 days in the NICU, he came home on oxygen and an apnea monitor. We've been home for 40 days now and he weighs 9 lbs 6 oz and is doing great!

Just wanted to tell about my itty bitty boy. Looks like I'm the only father writing a story. Tanner was 24weeks and weighed only 1lb 7oz. He is now 6yrs old and starting kindergarded tomorrow. He is a small topping the scales at 31lbs but he is perfect in all ways. Never did he return to the hospital after discharge, he has no physical nor mental conditions. He saves us money on clothes he only wears 12mo shorts and 3t shirts. God bless all the preemies out there they are ture miracles from god.
