I had 3 of my children premature. Emmalee was born at 20 weeks and they were not able to do anything for her, because of how early she was. She is with me always. Troyal was born at 32 weeks. He weighed 3lb. 8oz and was 17 in. long. My water had broke 3 weeks prior to his birth. They said that he had a small tumor on his brain that would eventually go away and was harmless. Thank God they were right! He is 4 and doing good. I do think he is still behind, but I couldn't ask for anyone better! Tobias was born 1 week after my water broke. He was born at 34 weeks. He weighed 5lb. 5 oz. and was 17 3/4 in. long. He was doing good and still is today at the age of two. It is hard to read and only imagine what others have gone through with babies that are even more premature. Good luck to all and God bless.

I was hoping to get some feed back on when to start my little girl in kindergarton. She will be five the end Of Aug. She is doing very good but she is still small weighing in at 32 lbs. She is reading and writing her name, and knows her abc. my problem is I still think she is just not quite ready for the day to day going of kindergarton, She is with other children all during the day. if there is any parents out there with school age children I would love some feed back she was born 4 months premature. at 24 weeks weighing in at 1lb 6oz . thank you

My name is Toni MacDonald and I am concerned about my Daughter Briannah-Lee... She is almost two and only 25ilbs... she was 3ilbs 6oz's at birth and was sick this past winter. She has a very big appetite but not gaining any of the weight she lost this winter back or any at all, does anyone else with preemies find this unusual, should i be concerned with her not catching up?

I enjoyed reading some of the stories, I too gave birth to a beautiful preemie girl she was born aug. 14, 2001 she was a 24 weeker weighing 900 grams and 12 inches long. She is now Four and is in perfect health. She does wear glasses for nearsightness do to ROP, but her vision has not changed any since she was 1 1/2 so we feel very blessed. She was born in Greenville North Carolina, at Pitt Memorial they have some really great nurses and drs. over there. she was in the nicu unit from aug 14 to nov 17. when she came home. She has not had any health problems since except for a cold every now and then, she did get the synagies shots for the first year of her life and I think they really helped her. She will start Kindergarton in the fall I wanted to wait until she was 6 but she is ready to go now. good look to every one and may god bless, pat
