Will my story began at 3:00 in the morning on July 8, 2006. I woke up to my water breaking (not knowing that i was pregnant, i did not show at all)i began to have back labour and my parents rushed me to the hospital. Will i was in labour the doctor on call (whohas never delivered a baby before)began to tell me i was going to have a baby, in about fifteen min. that all changed to him telling me that i was under 21 weeks gestation and the chances that my baby was going to live were slim to none. at about 4:30 in the morning they nurse came and did an ultersound and informed me that i was at least 31 weeks gestation, however my labour was progressing so rapaidedly that they would not be able to fly me out. At 5:30 in the morning two more doctors showed up and i was 8 cm. My lovely Daught Naomi Marie was born at 6:10 in the morning on July 8, 2006 weighting 4 lbs 14 oz and she was 18 inches long. The doctors figured that i was between 32 to 34 weeks gestation. My daught and i were in the hospital for 5 days when we were released, she is doing so well. it's been four weeks and she's 6 lbs 2oz. i would just like to thank the creator of this site for letting me share my story and thank you to everyone else who also has share there own stories. Bless all premature babies every they are the best miracles.

My daughter was born at 27 weeks gestation and weighed 1lb. 1.6 oz. She was the smallest baby I had ever seen. I am an active duty soldier and this is the hardest thing I have seen in my almost 5 years of duty. She is doing amazing she is 4 lbs. 4 oz and off oxygen. She is 34 weeks now.I hope to bring her home soon. She is also in a crib now.

My first son, Ryan, was born at 31 weeks and stopped growing at 28 weeks due to IUGR. He weighed 2 lb 1 oz and suffered a grade IV brain bleed. After 43 days in the NICU we brought him home, and prepared to send him back for his brain surgery to place his shunt. Those times were so trying, but I'm pleased to say he is now 6 years old and doing great. They told us he would be mentally retarded...Ryan is an average child who's only limitations are contact sports. 10 days ago we gave birth to our daughter Emma. She was 34 weeks but IUGR caused her to stop growing at 28 weeks also. She is healthy, and all we are waiting on is for her to gain enough weight to come home. The experience with Ryan has really helped us face this challenge with less fear and uncertainty. God bless all the preemies and may their families find love and support through the difficult times.

I really enjoyed reading the other parents stories when my son was born.It gave me a lot of encouragement. My son was 24 weeks when he was born on April 6th,2006. Today, July 27th, he's still in the hospital, but I they tell me he'll be coming home by Sunday. It was a long hard experience for us. I've always had a lot of health proplems, but we never expected this. I had been waiting for my son,Josiah, for as long as I can remember. So when the Doctor asked me if I wanted to abort him, or not do anything for him when he was born, I was horrified. Friends kept telling me he'll be fine, but they hadn't heard what the other doctors were saying about his life. I don't want to go into all the details of what he went through everyday, but i'll tell you now, he is fine. He will come home on oxygen, but that's ok. I can handle that. The doctors & nurses at the hospital cal him their miracle baby. Thanks for listening.
