Hello everyone! We are 9 year old twins born 3 months too early. We weighed 1#10 & 1#13oz. We were in the hospital for 3 months. We were born on Valentines Day. My twin is blind due to ROP. We would like to meet other kids who were preemies. We meet lots of kids and adults who were preemies when my twin Courtney Joy sings around the states. We would like to meet more kids. www.courtneysings.com Taylor Hope & Courtney Joy

Today my premature baby is doing wonderful! He just turned 3 on November 10th. He was born at 27 weeks weighing in at 2lbs. He was also a twin which was lost during the 4th month of my pregnancy. He is my miracle baby and my pride and joy! Being that this was my first and only baby, I was so scared. I know that times like these are very hard and emotional. Hang in there all! Need to talk, my email is always open!

I am a na nee, my grandbaby boy was born on 11/17 at 1:09am weighing at 3lbs, 10oz, this was scary, our baby was 8 weeks early, he is in the hospital and will not come home till he weighs about 5lbs, he is now breathing on his own and is digesting mommies milk just fine. Praise GOD! But am confused because they are telling us we can only cup our baby, meaning one hand on his head and the other on his feet. I just want to touch and stroke my grandbaby and be able to bond with him, they are telling us not to, please continue to keep him in prayer so that soon he will be home with us. Thank you so much

After many visits to the doctors about all th eproblems I had during pregnancy I finally took myself to hospital and was told if I didnt come in then me and my son had 1 week to live. He stopped growing at 24 weeks and had to be delivered that day at 29 weeks weighing 1lb 10oz. I had HELLP syndrome a rare condition of pre-eclampsia. My body was shuting down everything was dying. I recovered quickly as I had a son to care for. He was in intensive care for 83 days and they were very scary each day different. He had a duct, neck, bruise on the brain, reflux and many more problems through out the way. at one point he had to have 2 operations. Luckly he came over that. Now he is home and is weighing 7lb 8oz and he is a little star, such a fighter. He is still on oxygen but I know me my partner and my son will get through this. Good luck to all and keep smiling, Children are worth all the tears.

I'm a future teacher who is currently taking a class on exceptional students. I'm working on a term paper and looking for anecdotes from parents whose preterm/low birthweight children spent time in NICU and now are school age (preferably up to high school age) and the effects of preterm birth on school and education for these kids. Are there any issues? What are they? If you'd like to weigh in, please contact me at kmnop1217@hotmail.com. Thank you so much for any anecdotes you can provide!
