my name is amanda and my daughter, MaKenzie Renea, was born on sept 23 2006 and she weighed 4lbs. 1oz. she was born 2 months early and her original due date was november 19. She stayed in the NICU for a month and a half and went through 4 blood transfusions, sleep apnea, feeding tubes, respirators, iv's everywhere on her body, including her neck, and jaundice where she had to go under the bililights. We also had to transport her to another hospital because we couldn't get her to digest her formula. She came home finally on November 1 2006 and now at 6 months old she weighs 13lbs. 10oz. i am so thankful that she was strong enough to make it through all that.

part 2 - it was too long to fit in one - sorry So I did. No drugs, no nothing, but the doctors telling em to push after a week of telling me not to no matter what. I pushed. and it hurt so much emotionally to know that i was having a baby that they told me would most likely not survive and most definetely not thrive... she was a micro preemie after all. At best she woudl be severly retarded! She shouldn't live past a few hours and definetely not past 72, 24 would be a good thing so we could say our goodbye's. All these things we heard. All the sadness we felt. All the love we felt.
