My daughter Ava was born at 29wk weighing 1 pound 9 ounces and 13.75 in long. I was diagnosis with severe preeclampsia and they had to take her. I had no idea I was even sick. My daughter now weighs 2lbs, 10oz. She has been in the NNICU for 38 days now and it has been a challenge. When she was born, she was breathing on her own so thank God for that. Like many of you, I am still in the beginning phase of dealing with this. I love my baby just as the rest of you and I know what you mean when you say this has been difficult. My husband and I still get jealous when we see other people with their babies. God bless all of us.

Hi, My name is Veronica and my daughter was born January, 20, 2007, our due date was March 4,07. She weighed 5lbs 4.5 oz, She was in the NICU for about two weeks she was born with an oversized toungue, and she had jaundice really bad so she was mostly on the phototherapy lighting. Mother's day weekend of 07 she ended up in the hospital for about 5 days for dehydration she didn't know how to suck right on the bottle and the nurses at the hospital had to try differents ways for them to teach to me to feed my baby and by the time she got to go on the following monday she gain at least all the pounds she had lost in the last week. Now she is a beautiful 13month old happy and strong healthy baby she's up to where she should be in her developing skills she tryin to walk takin steps talking. the one thing i have to keep getting checked up on is her liver so my advice is for you to not give up when your beautiful premie gets older and stronger she'll eventually get to where they need to be. Love to All Preemies, and Prayers...

i am the proud grandmother of twin boys born at 27wks. they were very small, parker(a) weighed 2.2lbs, paxton(b) weighed 1.7lbs. they were due feb.12,08 but were born on nov.12,07. they were diagnosed as ttts 3-4wks prior to birth. i was fortunate to be in the delivery room with my daughter as she underwent her c-section. i know that seeing them born made these 2 boys more special to me. i was blessed because both boys were apparantly healthy other than being small. parker at 1 week was transferred to childrens hosp. to have surgery on his belly. apparantly he had a blockage in the lower intestine. since that day he has had a total of 5 surgerys and just recently started feeding from a bottle. paxton came on feb.13, he was a little fighter from the beginning due to being the donor fetus. he had to go back into the hospital due to the rsv. he is back on the vent and not looking too good. we travelled daily to 2 hospital nicu's to see both boys. they have been separated since birth. we are hoping and praying that he pulls out of the rsv. we are truly blessed that these 2 boys have made such an impact on our lives. my daughter is an angel in disguise, she is strong and will perservere in her quest to bring home both boys.
