My son Legend was born at 29 weeks. He weighed 3lbs 4oz. His stay in the NICU was a long 6 weeks. We had many ups and downs while he was there. At 12 weeks he had right and left ingunial hernias repaired. He had a hopital stay of 48 hours. Those 2 days brought me back to his time in the NICU. Now, he is 6 months old doing well. His doctor recommended ocupational therapy 2 days a week start next week. This is to improve his motor skills so he wont be dalayed. he has grown so much. He weighs 18 pounds now.

My daughter was born @ 24 wks. weighing 1 lb. 11 oz. My doctor assured me she would never survive. She spent 2 months in the NICU before coming home 3 weeks before her due date. She is now 10 years old and the healthiest , most perfect , not to mention most stuborn little angel there ever was.She came into this world fighting and has never stopped. She is incredably smart and LOVES horses! She knows how important life is and even at this young age, she knows what a special gift life is.

My adopted son was born at 24 weeks weighing 1 lb, 11 oz. He's now 5 months old and has been home with us for almost 2 months. He holds his head up, has rolled over a couple of times, tracks objects, notices the individual parts of my face, and is smiling. He is such a tough little guy and a complete angel. I'm so proud to be his mother.

I have a 5-week premature daughter that was born May 12,2008. She weighed at birth 3 LBS & 3 Oz...16 1/2 inches long. She was in the NICU for three weeks. She had very bad jaundice, but she is 5 months old today and weighs 10 LBS 15 OZ...22 1/2 inches long. I am very proud of her accomplishments!

September 1st 2008 was the craziest day of our lives. 5:30 a.m. is when Hunter wanted to start coming into this world. I woke up with bad back pains and finally decided to go to the hospital. Only 29 weeks 5 days my husband & I never expected to hear the new that the nurse gave us. I was at a 9 and going to deliver today. My husband couldnt belive what he heard. they rushed me into the delivery room and 2 pushes later I delievered my beautiful baby boy Hunter weighing in at 3 lbs 4 oz & 15 1/4 in long. they rushed him to a different hospital so the NICU unit could take care of him. He is doing great and we hope to have him home in a few weeks or so. God Bless all the premeies!

hi my name is amanda (24yrs).I have had 2 girls both were full term so when i had twin boys on the 12th march 2008 and they where 9wks premmie and weighing in at a healthy 3lbs 12ozs and 3lbs 10ozs it was a very big shock. They were in the NICU for 3 wks as they were on ventilators and had chest drains in as they had nemathoraxes in both lungs and both have holes in their hearts and one had a bleed on his brain and they spent 4wks in special care before they could come home. A total of 7wks which was great as its was 2 wks before their due date of the 14th may 2008. They are now 6mths old and a healthy 12lbs each but still have some problems but i truely believe that your child will become well because they need you to stay positive. My boys truely are a mircale in my eyes.
