My daughter Alexis Rayne was born 6 weeks early and weighed 3lbs 13oz. She spent 4weeks 4days in the hospital. She had jaundice, a hole in her lung, and had to have a blood transfussion. Since coming home at 4lbs 4oz she is doing great with no problems other then acid reflex. She is 4 1/2 months and weighs 9lbs 8oz. She would be a lot bigger if her acid reflex wasnt so bad. She throws up around 3 bottles a day which is stressful for the both of us. She rolled when she was 2mos old. She smiles all the time but isnt really laughing yet. She is grabbing for things and ofcourse wanting to eat anything she can reach. She is a true blessing and I wouldnt trade her for anything...:-)

When I was about 12 weeks along, I had a unexpected gush of blood. I went to the E.R., they tested my hormone levels and the were great. We did an ultrasound and they told me I had placenta previa and that this was causing my bleeding. At about 23 weeks I had the same gush of bleeding, but this time I was contracting. I went to the hospital and I was in preterm labour. They gave my magnesium to stop it and they did for 2 weeks. I stayed in the hospital until the birth of my daughter Alyvia on January 12 2007, born at 25 weeks. Her due date was April 23 2007. The docters told me that I had placental abrubtion and an incompetent cervix. Alyvia weighed 1 pound and 13 ounces. She was 13 inches long. Alyvia stayed in the NICU until April 11 2007. She overcame many obstacles. Now almost 2 years later, she is doing fantastic. She has no health problems. Her speech is a little delayed. We were so very blessed for her to have done so well. We thank god for her every day.

The begining to my daughters life actually started about 2 weeks before she was born. My water broke when i was 23 weeks, i was hospitalized and put on bed rest and remained in the hospital for the next two weeks. When i got a fever and they preformed an emergency c-section and toke her out at 24 weeks and 6 days. May 23, 2008 (due date was Sept. 6. 2008) She's weighed in at 1lb. 10 oz. She remained in the hospital for 3 1/2 months..coming home on Sept.1, 2008...right before my due date. She is now 5 months old and weighs 10 lbs. 6 oz. and is doing amazing. I am so amazed at her every single day...my baby and many babies out there have defied the odds and will keep defining the odds...so new moms of preemies, keep your heads up, and keep fighting..

Hi my name is Cindy. I am very proud of my lil man that was brought into the world 9 weeks and 4 days early. He was born 2/25/08 and wasnt due til May 1st. He was 2lbs and 1 oz 14 1/2 inches long. We were in the NICU for 11 weeks and 1 day. While Kaleb was in there we went thru 3 surgeries. He is doing wonderful. He will be 8 months 10/25/08. He is trying to sit up alone and he is also trying to crawl. His dr for his developement is very impressed with him considering he shouldnt be doing some of these things for his adjusted age. He is now 13lbs. He eats like a lil pig and will eat anything you put in his mouth from formula to some table food. He is also getting his first tooth. So parents out there with preemie babies keep your heads up.
