Dear Melissa: I think yr.website is super COOL! I am a 35-yr.old ECE and I wanted to look into raccoons & their habits as of right now I live in a really crappy neighborhood and the thing that keeps me going are my friends that come to visit me almost every night: Rohan & White Foot!! When they appear in the "Y" of the tree across the alley from my balcony, my heart starts pounding, I giggle like I'm six yrs. old and my SANITY is saved!!! I can't express the joy I feel!!! I would like to start a pen pal relationship with you, can we do that?? Anyway, once my husband gave Rohan a bucket of water (below the tree) cuz we thought where do they get fresh water???? Oh-my-god! He came down the tree & EVER THIRSTY!!!Then he washed his face and I had to really supress my fit of giggles otherwise I might have scared him off!!! I NEED to know what the inner city raccoons' favorite feast would be and would I help or hinder if I tried to get them a safer home location (rather than some drug-infested economically-challenged neighborhood with yucky dangerous needles & stuff. Could u e-mail me? Just to let ya know I use our community's local library so my time's up today--gotta go!!! Thank u for sharing all yr. research!!!

I have had pet coos for the past 4 years, Walter, Anna, C.J, Sandra , Chuckles and Waddles. They do make fun pets for awhile, we do let theim go eventually.

Thank you soooooooooo much Melissa!!! I'm doing a project on Raccoons. At first, I thought they were lame, garbage-obsessed creatures, but, after visiting your site, I realized that they wash their food before eating it, Baby raccoons are called kits, and that raccoons can unlock doors easily (freaky huh?) Well, anyways, I know I'll get a good mark to hopefully pass grade 6! Well, BYE!!!
