Nice web site. I was with 3rd shroan Beacon Sqd, 1954-1957. Spent only 3 months at RW, then set to Det.3. Do remember a few things about the base, bet most 601st memebers didn't know the 3rd shoran even was there. We were rather low key. Like to hear from other 3rd Shoran memeber.

I was in the 601st, stationed at Rothwesten 1956-57 and Wasserkuppe 1957-1959. I worked in the wire and Telephone Section, Climbed the towers and poles installing radio ant, cables etc. That was the best time of my life too. I married Martha Fahrenbach from Obervellmar/Kassel in 1959. In later years, 1967, I was at Rhein Main AB, then,I went to Belgium 1968, and back again 1973-76 in Weisbaden, Lindsey AS.I retired in 1978 Patrick AFB, Fl. Msgt.I have some pictures of Appleton, Sasser, Cole (a cook),Sam Curtis, Mussolino,Jack Able,Emsley, Carson and several others. Will send them in whem I can.

This looks like it will be a lot of fun to study. I was stationed at Kassel in 1961/62 I was there when we moved the 601st. From there I was sent to Ramstein. Was a great time.Worked in Special Services with Ron Huffman.Who can tell me where I can find a history of the raid over Kassel during WWII ?

What a great web-site!!I was stationed at Rothwesten with the 601st from 1961 to 1963 when it was moved to Sembach. I worked in the Army Finance Office. It was a great time of my life. I met my wife (Erika Koch) there, who worked as a clerk in the motor pool. I have to dig through my pictures and send some I have from that era. My wife and I live in Germany where I retired from teaching in the military dependent school system.
