Thank you for the interesting
information I have just read on your web
site.
The site is poignant to me as both of my
parents were forced labourers during the
war, and they were liberated by American
soldiers in 1945 in the Kassel area. As
a child, I grew up with their stories of
the wonderful soldiers who saved their
lives, and gave them food, clothing, and
above all compassion. They haven't
forgotten the brave fighting men who
risked their lives to defeat Hitler's
regime. As my parents age, they are
compelled to recall the hardship of war,
and show their gratitude to the men who
fought a tough battle over half a
century ago.
Our prayers go out to the survivors, and
to those that fell in battle. It's never
too late to say thankyou

Hi...I was stationed in Pruem with the 601st TCS from 75'to 76'. Our unit started in Weisbaden and resettled in Pruem. I was a "Scope Dope" and Boy Scout Leader. Had a great time. Love to hear from anyone who recognizes my name or who was assigned there in the mid 70's.

My husband was in the Army in Munich, Germany, in the early 60s. We bought two oil paintings from a man named Gunter Heinzel. Does anyone know if he is the same man as the glider pilot mentioned in the article from 1960 that was in the "Stars and Stripes"?
