Hey well done fantastic web site, I have only just got my telescope, a 120mm refractor type, boy have I got a lot to learn. I want to learn more to help me with my night sailing and navigation. Your pages have given me an insight on just how hard I will have to work. Thanks.

I have a 4inch Refractor which I bought in 1961 while in Julia Creek Qld. I now live in Emerald Qld, which has more light problems. Enjoyed the Leonoids with my wife recently. See you later, Bernie

I just purchased my first telescope- a 114mm reflector. I am new to this and having some difficulty using it correctly. Any help is greatly appreciated!

It was interesting to read the stuff on your site. I use a 3 inch refractor (Stellarvue) along with some Paul Rini eyepieces, a couple of Tele Vue Plossls and a *5 Powermate (Tele Vue). I too live in a heavily light polluted area and would not even consider looking at clusters or galaxies from home. In a 6 inch scope, you should be able to see far more detail *if* you take a trip away from theose lights. This is why I opted for a short focal length refractor mounted on a good photo tripod fitted with a fluid damped head. I just jump on a train or bus ago go where the sky is darker. I can strongly recommend Stellarvue products as being of excellent quality. My 'observatory' fits into two nylon carry bags. Regards, Allan BTW... www.stellarvue.com (the best kept 'secret' in Astronomy)

Great site! I'm and astronomy novice. I've just purchased a 4.5 inch reflector to use with my 11 year old daughter and it has helped out a lot.
