Looking good. I am presently working on my web site titled The Urban Astronomer. I am looking for articles from amateurs observing from urban environments. If you would like to contribute please e-mail me at the above address.

Went out this past Saturday night (Feb 17, 2001) for some winter viewing. Dressed to the hilt in quilt and down, two of us set up our scopes in the 4ºF night air, conveniently next to a friend's sauna, which we fired up to use as a warming house. What a grand sky. The Orion Nebula was one of the highlights, as were M81 and M82. I logged no less than 25 objects and my friend got a couple more. We even attracted some hardy spectators who were (as I love to see) literally jumping up and down at their first sight of almost any of the things a clear sky has to offer. We packed up around 1am. Don't let winter keep you indoors! Get out whenever the viewing is good.

Excellent site. I recently went to Arizona to observe the night sky. I found your site very informative. I recommend a trip (Lowell Ob, Kitt Peak...their facilities are excellent for the beginner).
