This is a great site ! I was first part of the 36th Engineer Bn when it was activiated at Fort Irwin, CA in 1966. Actually, I was assigned to the 544th Engineer Company (CS). This unit was an separate TO&E organization however, was realigned as a subordinate entity to the 36th in Viet Nam (Vung Tau) in 1967. Seems like a lifetime ago. All good memories; best of all the memories of "being young". Once again, a real pleasant surprise to locate this site. Ron Kozak

Hi to all. I served from 67 to 68. First at Fort Leonard Wood then to Fort Irvin. While at Fort Irvin I sold my car to a guy that wrecked it and died as a result and they put that car on a lowboy and parked it right as you came in for a good 60 days probably more. Shipped out on SS John Pope to veitnam.
Have trouble remembering a lot of names but when Kenny sent me pics it came back quickly! Hope to try to make it to the reunion this year. This is a great site. Keep up the good work!

I am looking for veterans that I served with during Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. I left from California to Germany then in December or January of 1968 I left Germany for Vung Tau, Vietnam. I remained in Vietnam for 18 months in Vung Tau with the 36th engineer battalion/ 94th engineer detachment (Quarry). I received a 30 day leave at that time, came home and then returned to Vietnam for 6 months but this 6 months of my life is a blank except for the vivid flashbacks that I now experience. I need to fill in some holes and I need the help of any one who may have served with me or remembers me. Please email me at ola42642@yahoo.com if you can help me fill in the blanks or remember me.
