You have missed spelled William Gripenburg's name. Please remove one of the extra "p"'s you have put in there. Also William Gripenburg did not have a "doomed" outlook on things that it would force him into acting silly as you have made him out to look. He was being smart. He knew the hotel was going to be one of the first buildings hit so he handed out the liquor so it would not be wasted!! Not because he took such a doomed stand on the situation.
