Hi, I have been reading a book written by Donna Spooner Tanney, titled "The Eternal Hills" on loan from the Watertown, NY North Country Library System. The James Hills family history has been of interest to me. I doubt they were related to me but my great great grandfather's parents must have traveled from VT to Ohio through this area. Anyone know of the author or a place called "The Lone Rock Homestead"?

I have found the early years and the way of life of BROOKFIELD's people of great interest. Being early settlers had its good and bad times but they were repeated as people moved West to the Northwest Territory. My relatives moved to southern Illinois to settle into farm live and must have stopped in Ohio in route in the early 1800 to mid-1800s.
