Maternal descendant of the Hills family. Visited Brookfield in '87 and was treated like I lived there all my life. Loved it, hope to get back someday.

I lived in Brookfield for a few years during WWII when I was about 7-10 years old. My father was Carl Peterson, and he was the coach at the school. The Grantiers were good friends. We lived in the big white house on the corner in the center of town; another family lived upstairs. We moved to New Jersey in 1945 (I think) but I still have a few vivid and pleasant memories of the time we lived in this little town.

I'm glad that you created this website. It's great to see all of the people from around the country who have ties to our small town. I loved hearing the appreciation people had for small town life. To be frank, I tire of the jokes about the mentality of the people of Brookfield. As far as I'm concerned, Brookfield citizens rank up on top with the best!

Matt,
Nice work on the web site. Do you want to become a member of the Historical Society? I am the editor of the Bailey's Corner Gazette this year and I could always use information about Brookfield. Do you have some to share?
Sincerely Mrs. Adkison

hi! nice site! My family has a cabin in brookfield and my father will be moving there perminently in a year or two and hopefully i will go with him. Ive never stayed for more than a week at a time but would love the change. It might be hard at first with me being 18 and used to a pretty big town (population 36,000)but there are a lot of perks (especially finally getting the horse ive always wanted!) Cant wait to visit!
