Just wanted to say "Good" job here. I found this site and found some old flying friends. Lt Wassmer, Doug saved my ass on a hairy night flight off the USS Roosevelt in 76. I was a 3rd class mech aircrewman/swimmer and we had a bad night ...he flat saved our bacon..Nuff said. I will always remember him. I have a door gunner by the name of Karl Peters working for me, he's a retired warrant and a good man. My tour of duty included HC-2, and HSL-31 as a sar intructor. Had a great time and really miss the old days.
Best regards
