Hi Haruka,
The family value is getting lower and lowers in England as well. I suppose, nowadays the new generation and the old generation’s gap is getting wider too quickly, or maybe we are living in two different styles. Although our government works very hard to improve the family values, we still can’t see any results at all. That’s all because our modern society and the modern living style divide the two generations. Especially, nowadays the computer, TV and phone are very popular and cheap, therefore almost everyone has their own personal one in the own room. Some families even have different times for each member to have their meals and breakfast, although they are living under one roof. How often can they bump and speak to each other in a day, but on the other hand that will mean fewer chances to have arguments. Do you think so?

Mayumi and Miyuki: I'm glad to see you're fine. Keep posting and try to see what you've written. By the way, watch out for the heat that is covering whole Japan archipelago.

Benly: You're right. We're very much the same. But our constitution clearly stipulates that there is no difference among siblings in terms of right to inheritance. This is the spirit of democracy we were given by the occupation force after the war. Most of the spirits we have enjoyed and they were certainly the driving forces of our postwar growth. The flipside is the collapse of family value and the time-honored welfare system for the aged which was defined by the biological order not by the physical representation. It's not easy to calculate the bottomline but one thing very clear is that family courts are getting busier and court lawyers richer by the year for the fighting siblings while the aged are set aside.

Hi ALL How are you doing? I hope ALL you are fine and have a good summer day!
I watched NHK TV program , ( NHK is like a BBC ,) it was for English learner and said about Soseki Natsume , Inazo Nitobe and Yukichi Fukuzawa , and to learn English . They studied English . In 1900 Soseki went to study English in UK .
What I am surprised is Soseki read a book only 35 hours. It is hard to read the book in NOT-mother language . Please imagine that !
He told that how to learn English " Read many books . If you meet a word which you don't know meaning , keep reading ." This is that I am doing it now . ( Also it is important grammer .)
Is it intersting ??
Thank you for reading!
Take care , ALL! Cheers!!
