How did the Farquharson clan make it to Jamaica?

Although my last name isn't scottish, my mother was a Farquharson before marriage and my dad is also mostly scottish. My middle name is Forrester and from what I'm told it's a traditional name for the first son of the family. I've been to Scotland once about 6 years ago and can't wait to get back to play more golf, But this time i'll bringing my kilt with me. Last year i graduated from High School and wore the full scottish dress for my outfit. Now I'm just looking for an opportunity to wear it again. Take care.

My maternal grandfather was Alexander (Alex) Lyon. He had an old box with the clan Farquharson tartan on it. He immigrated from Canada to the United States. My father's side of the family is Norwegian. It is exciting to have found this web site. Thanks, --Dave--
