We visited Scotland twice, but not the games yet. Have begun tracing the family back to Scotland. John Farquarson, a surveyor & farmer, came to Canada about 1820. His father was Murray Farquharson of Elrick, Aberdeenshire, who died a out 1837.
Would appreciate any information.

Hello
I'm hoping you can help me please.
I tried to send this through the contact email address but it doesn't work.
My great aunt, Francesca Helen Marah was Lady's maid at Braemar Castle, home for a while to the Prince and Princess Dolgoruki, who escaped Russia during the Revolution. (I have several pieces of china that were given to my great aunt during that period)
She was possibly under her married name of Northeast as she was widowed during WW1
I have written to Braemar Castle several times via the Historic Places Trust website but have had no replies.
I am wondering who would hold staff records for the Castle or if you can suggest who I may write to to find out the years she actually worked there?
Thank you for your time, Sylvia Lagah

My Grandfather is Capt. John MacKercher Sr. (retired).
After everything he taught me, I am proud to be a
member of the Farquharson clan, and I encourage that
all of us should reunite, its what our ancestors would
have done.

My late mother was a Finlayson and on a visit to Scotland in May this year I was able to trace our connection to the Farquharson Clan. There are quite a number of Finlaysons on this famous Rock and greetings to you all on this our National Week.

Greetings! Just celebrated the "Highland Fling" days
at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival. My son,
Donald Alexander (Alex) Findlay, and I proudly wore
our Farquharson kilts that my wife, Teresa, made
for us this year.
