Interesting site. I guess I'm in the direct line from Natheniel and John Ladd from the present. I can remember my father, Thyril L. Ladd, talking about the cemetery containing our ancestors at Caughdenoy, NY. I think he said that his father, Elwin Albertus Ladd, Superintendant of Schools in Batavia, NY, took him there when he was a small boy. He also spoke about all the Ladds living near Central Square, NY and the Ladd burials in the Central Square Cemetery.

Hi! I'm the daughter of Greg Ladd. I was just researching Luther Crawford Ladd and found out some really cool things. Did you know tha "Maryland,My Maryland" was written in a direct result of the riot in Baltimore that took Luther Ladd's life? Or that He was killed three days after enlisting in the sixth Mass. volenteer regiment? Well, now you do!! Have a happy Fourth of July!

I am the last of the Daniel Ladd direct line, to pass on the name and am delighted with your web-sites information. I have been raised knowing this information and am included in the second edition of the book, The Ladd Family from Eastern Connecticut. I came to your web-site after learning that my Wife is expecting. There are many other stories that could be told about this line. My father Theodore was on a Senate Intellegence Committee and retired as a Senior Executive in the government. My Grandfather was also remarkable. Thank you for carrying on the family information.
