hey ya'll!!! i just finished my side of the first "bring back the basics" mix-tape for the Dec 2003 issue. I believe the issue is going to be called "Blood on the Dance Floor", so go to the site (URL above) and we'll update it soon with the songs/bands on my side and brian will do his soon...and YEAH, they fucking rule HARD (hopefully there's at least one band you don't know of that will intrest you) either way, the songs are really good. so go to that site or e-mail me if you want a copy of it. i will be sending them out via snail-mail (my fav.) this month. thanks yo. take care. Hey, this goes out to anyone who wants to hear some KICK ASS music!!! A few of us dudes in heartcrosslove have put together something we named "Bring Back the Basics".....it's gonna be like a monthly zine-type thing; the cool part, is that every "issue" will have a mix-tape with a BUNCH of awesome independent/diy bands from all over that everyone should check out. and the zine part will have info of the bands so you can check them out if you really dig the song. (so it's like a comp. on tapes every month). We started this pretty much cause it's all about mix-tapes, and sharing music is fun (so we also encourage people to maybe trade us mix-tapes and/or give us pointers on their fav. bands so we can add them). So we will probably do the first "issue" in Dec, so check out the website in the MY URL link. if you have questions or wanna get a copy of the first issue, you can e-mail me. a list of the bands and songs that will be on the mix-tape for that month will be on that site in time. thanks for reading, hope you will be interrested. In other post confidante news there is a show coming up on december 19th. 848 Divisadero in SF. Brute Medium, Wilmot Proviso, This Technology is Dead (feat. two ex-members of confidante), A glass theme (another member of confidante), and there is a rumor that CLEARING AUTUMN SKIES will be there. Come check the show out everyone.
