I am a decendant of the Weismantel family that operated a store on the canal in new london back in the 1800's starting with Casper Weismantel and then his son Joseph.
Weismantel decendants still live in and around Rome. One of our relatives obit stated that he had been a fire dept. voluteer. Sorry I'm not sure which dept., I have that info at home but not with me here at my daughters. Wondering if any Weismantel or Sehl decendants are members of your department. Enjoyed the site.

I am a volunteer in Connecticut. You have a nice site, and I think the orange
trucks are cool, to bad you are stopping that.

Great site... we are still working on ours... odly enough we just went to red about ten years back on our trucks they were saftey green or yellow.. Still not sure till this day what they were... We apprecaite you all coming by and looking at our site.. It is fun knowing that our brother hood we have does not stop at state or district lines...
