You aren't crazy and countless people have similarly stayed in bp relationships for many years, for a lot of the same reasons and other personal ones.
Just know that you can't fix it or change it, nor did you cause it. It isn't and wasn't your fault.
Leaving is still a bitch. There is a lot to grieve.

Wow! A great big Thank You for posting this letter
on the Web. I have been agonizing over, and
confused by my girlfriend's behavior. I have been
especially confused over what you call the Silent
Treatment. When I read that, EVERYTHING just
clicked and suddenly made sense. Wow, finally, I
have a sense of how I've gotten caught up and lost.

I HAVE BEEN THRO SERIOUS HELL WITH MY NOW EX BP PARTNER OF TEN YEARS. SHE HAS DONE EVERYTHING BUT ANNHILATE ME I AM LEFT ?? I don't quite know yet.. numb, shattered, demeaned outraged, humiliated, lost all confidence sexually, brutalised ..phew ! ....
