Thankyou so much for putting this letter online, I am dealing with a borderline friend/neighbor, we were very close and then she turned on me, and made me out to be the evil one. I saw so many similar behavioral characteristics between your ex and my ex-friend, it has helped me to realize you indeed can't reason with them, and they will lie and spin when caught doing bad deeds because they can never be wrong, and arguments can never be about resolving issues, but a matter of them winning. A lie is as good as the truth if it serves their agenda. I asked her why she told so many lies, and she said she had to defend herself, but I asked against what?? She had no answer. Her behavior made no sense, she is easily threatened and has no boundaries at all, and makes other people's personal buiness her business, always judging, blaming and critising. I really cared about her, and we were best friends for years, but her charm and humor was replaced by a venemous wrath over perceived slights which did not exist, it became hopeless to continue trying to be her friend. Reading your letter made me realize it wasn't all me (I tend to blame myself too much) but her inabality to be a real friend. So thanks again for putting that online, it has helped me, made me feel I'm not the only one to have such a person in my life, and has given me helpful insights.
