I would like to here from any SP's who were at Wethersfield from 1964-1968.I was in Law Enforcement during this time and would like to here from any old Security Police personnel. Just found this site and looked at some of the old pictures and the memories came back. This was the best assignment.

I was a dependent along with brother and two sisters and we were at RAFW from 1966-69. We were also at RAF Lakenheath from 1960-63, except for younger sister born in November 1963. Thoroughly enjoyed time in England and many memorable events. Enjoyed time at RAFW a little more because I was older. 1960's in England enabled us to witness Beatles (1962), Carnaby St and miniskirts (1966) before the fads hit US. But, the reason we were there were the F-100's and the "red menace" they might have to fight. The communist threat was a very tangible fear back then. Growing up around aviation, the F-100's and other aircraft on base and visiting, gave you a secure feeling because they were always visible. Whether walking on base or riding school bus, they were right in front of you.

Stationed at RAFW from 5/75 to 3/77 in Fire Department. I'm interested in locating old friends from those dates that enjoyed their experiences in the USAFE. Having no aircraft to chase and only U2's on TDY for a summer there was plenty of time to enjoy extra curricular activities. Playing softball, football and basketball intrumurals as well as participating on the base team was a great experience. My wife and I would like to get back there for some sightseeing in the future. We are also interested if there are any of the dependent kids (now adults) who remember and were part of that championship soccer team in 76-77. That was truly a great accomplishment and a very fond memory. Looking forward to hearing from as many as are interested.
