What a great website! I don’t know how I got here or even what I was doing that brought me here, but I’m finding myself completely fascinated and lost in forty year old memories of one of the most enjoyable periods of my life. My tour of duty covered three and a half years between 1963 and 1966. I served as a 462x0 Weapons Mechanic assigned to the 20th MMS (Munitions Maintenance Squadron). I stumbled onto this site a few days ago and haven’t been able to stop thinking about the people I met or the experiences I had during that period in my life. After reading the guestbook it’s obvious that there are many others that have similar experiences and many great memories of an incredible period in their lives. I would venture a guess that everyone stationed there could write their own chapter in a book of “Great Times and Memories of RAF Wethersfield”, I know I could . . . . . Here are a few names that stand out in my memory as people that are memorable and at some point were important to me: Chuck Flowers, Darrell (Buzz) Simpson, Oren DeWald, Warren (Jerry) Lewis, Mike Duffey, Darrell Babbs, Walt Magnusson, Mike Kuhn, Andy Andrikitus, Jim Sisk, Joe Flynn, John Shane, Jerry Poulin, Joe Polyn, Lynn Hall, Richard (Rick) Berman, Chuck Yeager, Joe Berradino, Gary Plako, Tony Connata, Phil Hill, & Abe Nicolow. If you have memories of me I apologize for not including your name on my list, after forth years I seem to have more faces than names as memories. Do you think any of us have changed during the last four decades? As part of my guest book signing I have included a link to a Blogspot my wife and I created last year during a circumnavigation of the Eastern US. Give it a look, maybe you can take off the last forty years I have packed on.

Hi to all! I am absolutly in need of help, i am looking for my father who i havent seen since i was 6, and i am now nearly 21! His name is Urelus Neal also known as JP he managed the NCO club in wethersfield base some time through the 80's. i Know that my dad would want to find me too but like him i have moved so much since then. I was stationed at Wethersfield from 1955-1958. A crew chief on the F-84F and F100-D. Would sure like to hear from anyone there about that time.

I served with and was a roommate of Jim Majors and George Berryman during 1960 and 1961. I would like to make contact with both of these gentlemen. I signed the guestbook several pages/years ago. Great assignment!

I was stationed at Wethersfield from 1961 to 1964, personnel section. Had a wonderful time with the friends I had on base on in the various villages around our base. I eventually married a lovely yound lady from London. I often wonder what happen to some of the airmen I knew: Jim Majors, Jim Hoyt (sp?), Richard Brown, Ben Benson, personnel section. I played tennis during this time and had a great time playing at the different bases. I met some lovely local families that proved me with enjoyable weekends and a "Base" away from Wethersfield, the Barrons (their farm was Mandalay Farm) and the Gilbeys-on the same family famous for their liquor.
