I have just read the comment from Julia Duncan and your name sounds familiar. I was real good friends with Marty Jones and would like to be able to contact him as well. My e-mail address is ktitan1@yahoo.com and would like to hear from anyone who remembers the 80s at the "field"

Hello. My father, Col. Edward F. Lester was stationed at Wethersfield from 1960-1964. I was born there in 1964 (actually, I was born in Mildenhall because that is where the hospital was). My father passed away in 1976 so I don't have much info.

What a great sight. Have spent hours reading emails. Told my brother, Nelson "Tex" Cloud, about the sight and he is interested in locating some dependents he went to Lakenheath High School with. Namely, Bill Hollinsworth, Richard Dell, Jim Helms and Airman Cliff "Happy" Hansen who worked for our father CMSGT Glenn E. Cloud, who was the base fire chief at Wethersfield. We were stationed there from late summer 1962 thru late summer 1965. We lived in base housing on Cannon Court if memory is correct. "Tex" graduated from LHS in 1964. I myself worked in the NCO Club and Airman's Club as a cashier for nearly the full time stationed there. Our father retired from the Air Force upon returning to the states. He is still living, almost 88 years old and I am sure he would love to hear from anyone who remembers him. And I would also love to hear from anyone who remembers me or my brother. He lives in Oklahoma. Hope to hear from someone out there. Thanks, Mary C. Eakes

I don't know if my dad has seen this site or not. I will send him an email with a link. I was a dependent there. If I remember right we were there from '67-'70. My dad worked in the MMS shop, and my mom worked as a waitress in the "O" Club, or the NCO Club. Can't remember which. My dad will remember. We lived in Halstead right next to the Firehouse. What a nightmare, used to scare the hell out of my brother when that siren would go off at night. We then moved into Mushroom Farms. I loved England. It is where I started Baseball (my dad was president of the Little League one year). It is also where I learned to play "Football" (soccer). BTW, does any body know the name of the Elementary School there? Anyway, love the site. It brings back lots of good memories. I loved the Air Shows they had there.
