In 1983 I was stationed at RAF Wethersfield with the 193rd TEW from Middletown Pa, USA and visited Finchingfield a beautiful village and wonderful people. The Tea House was an outstanding visit and the Local PubThe Green Man was wonderful. People named Janet and Ian owned it back then.
Thanks for the memories.

hello just updating this info ..hi i am looking for bob and sandra mac/mc daniel who were stationed at rafw late 60's early 70's, they are my godparents ,my mother was josie farrant (she has a sister called marie,) we all lived in steeple bumpstead, sadly my mother passed away in 1970 and i was adopted, i am also looking for my natural father and believe they may be able to help me in my search, i was reunited with marie over 20 years ago, and from info given believe my fathers name to be wayne maybe with the last name burton he was canadian but in the usaf, and stationed at rafw in 66-68-69 maybe?? i would appreciate any help anyone could give me as rafw seemed to be a pretty tightknit community back then, thank you....there was also mention of a berkley farrar not sure if spelt correct, i have been trying to find him for over 20 years and because i was adopted and my name has changed he would never be able to trace me if he was looking.. thank you

My dad Sidney P. Beck commented earlier that he was in the 20 TFW from 1967-1970, when it was at RAF Wethersfield. I was a dependent then and have many fond memories. My worst memory was being on one of the last buses to leave the base in July of 1970. I later joined the USAF and my first duty assignment was the 20 TFW at RAF Upper Heyford from 1974-1977. I eventually was assigned to 3 AF/HQ (1988-1992) and worked the closure of Greenham Common and Upper Heyford. Coincidentally, my assignment prior to 3 AF Mildenhall was Shaw AFB South Carolina, new home of the 20 TFW. Now I work as a contractor at Eglin AFB FL.
