I was stationed at Weathersfield from 1965 to 1968. Supply sqd. Worked at the supply point between the flight line and the main base. Also worked at the supply point next to A&E shops. Finished up on the flight line building TCTO kits. I was there when they deceided to make us E-4s Buck Sgt. instead of Airman 1st class. I also worked in the NCO club as a bar waiter. I remember the bar tender at the time was named Jack. Can't remember his last name. Had a great time.....free drinks. I missed the airman's club as we now were NCOs. Use to sneak back in the airman's club from the NCO club.

I'm after some help, if possible. I'm doing some research on the hospital (which no longer exists), and would love to get hold of an aerial shot of how it looked and, if possible, the plans of how it was laid out. Is there a site that can offer this? From there, I'd love to then compare how different things are now from 60 years ago. Many thanks in anticipation

A reposting, after several years. 20th Tac Hospital 90250, 1965 - 1968. Retired 90200, CMSgt. Will always look back at my 'Patch' tour as the foundation for many great steps in my AF career. Worked night shift in the clinic's 'ER', drove many miles to and from RAF Lakenheath's hospital and thoroughly enjoyed bicycle touring Essex's back roads and villages. Flew as airborne Medic on Det 9, AARRC's HH-43s 'Huskie' rescue/firefighting helicopters, participating in many local airshows. Was aboard first USAF Huskie chopper to fly down the Thames, viewing all of London's riverside historic sights - what a vantage point! Spent nearly 27 yrs in USAF Medical Service, retired in Nov '89 and settled adjacent Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks. Appreciate hearing from other 20th Tac Medics!

66-68, 20th Tactical Hospital
RAF Wethersfield
Reporting for duty? I don't think so, I always work
the night shift.
Great times, great mates.
Tony Shidla send me an email. I'm still in love with
your wife.
If anyone in Finchingfield reads this please give my
regards to everyone at the Red Lion.
I wonder what ever happened to George the
publican?
He enlisted in the British Army for a three year
hitch in 1936 and didn't get out until 1946.
He was a great bloke but a little unlucky.
I'd love to hear from any of my fellow medics.
90250 forever.
Sgt. (but only because they changed the rules),
Gary Ede
