Just an update from my first entry of 11/02/09 in the old guestbook. I was at Wethersfield early '67 thru late '68.
My wife of almost 41 years, Jenny (a Braintree girl) and I went to see Herman's Hermits and The Buckinghams here in Panama City last night.
For a short while it was 1967 and we were back in the UK. No aches and pains, no terrorists, no mortgages or savings losses, just drift into the music. It was wonderful.
Then it was 2008 and when Peter Noone got a little raunchy with his hips, ladies were throwing their dentures, crutches, and walkers up to him on stage! Not exactly like 1967!
Now LSD is "Lead Singers Disease" they're the only surviving original member of the group, Acid is antAcid, and Pot is that thing you shove under the bed so you don't have to walk all the way down the hall in the middle of the night!
Seriously, it was a great concert and if you have the chance to see them near you, go for it, you'll enjoy it. Not much pushing and shoving and the crowds are much easier to navigate through when they are in wheelchairs and on walkers!
I have a question and an observation please. On the main page of this wonderful site provided by Bob, there is a link to "The People of RAF Wethersfield - More Photo". On that page at the very bottom is a photo titled "Going Home" Photo - Frank Kim. The lady in the photo is a longtime friend, Christine Nunn, the guy in the middle is Frank Kim, I think. Does anyone have any more info on this photo such as names, date taken, circumstances, or other details? My wife thinks she may recognize some of the folks and we are curious about current details.
Also on the main page there is a link to "Vintage Wingman Newspapers plus Ed Goodhue's cartoons" and on that page there is a copy of the Wingman "VOL 15 No. 29 Saturday Sept. 13, 1968". On the front page , midway down, righthand column, is a story "Sergeants Jones, Watson Cop Photo Contest Honors". "That" Sgt Jones is me and I'm wondering if anyone remembers me and my time in the 77th, and also might have info on Sgt Ed Watson's whereabouts? I'd like to contact him for old times sake. Some names I remember are "Willie" Williams and wife Sharon from Alabama, Bob Hyser, Jim Ringler (my Best Man) and wife Joni from Colorado, Roger and Sue Yates, Pete Kuhn, and many more I'll remember over the next few days. Please contact me by email or phone.
My most grateful thanks to Bob Barrett for this marvelous resource. Keep it up man, Great Job!

Thanks to this RAFW web site Mike Crom from Ridgecrest, California has contacted me recently. We were stationed together from 1955 to 1958 and all of us in the 77th engine shop worked our butts off on F-84's and then to F-100's. During the last year at Wethersfield, Ann Harris from Braintree was my girlfriend. Wonderful memories and great comraderie in the 77th.
