I was stationed at Wethersfield from January 1967 until January 1970. I was an aircraft dispatcher and worked in Flight planning, Base Operations. Our family resided in Mushroom Farms South east of the airfield. The large two story warehouse buildings were subdivided into apartments and the rest of the concreted parking area was populated with dozens of makeshift homes that were not much more than tarpaper shacks but the interiors were remarkably cosy homes. I was one of the last dispatchers that used to call in flight plans to the London Service Center. We converted to a teletype system in the last months that I was there.

I was there between 1986-1990 with the 819th red horse and 7119th flight group. If you go to the URL to my face book and click on photos, I put some picture of when the British fire men turned over a new P19 crash truck on thanksgiving 1988. Long time ago in the early and mid 60th served in 20TAC hospital and was t he para medic flying in the HH-43. Livewd lower noth upper site 8 married an English 43 years ago and we are still going strong. Great site greater memories. Got a lot of pictures of the medic squardon. Love to hear from anybody that was there. Believe I would do it all over again
