This is a repeat posting from page 57. Just thought that I'd check in again and add an item or two... I came to the 55TFS in Oct. '66 as an A3C right out of tech school at Lowry in Denver. Was a Weapons Mech. and went TDY a lot to Wheelus, Aviano, Cigli and once to Norway. Great times at the patch. I was on weapons team 55-2 as a #3 man and left in Oct '69 as its team chief and as SSGT. Check out my website for some pics from '67 Open House and more.
As I've been reading and enjoying all of your posts, I've noticed that the Dog Inn in Wethersfield village has not been mentioned much. That's where all of us 55th Weapons guys used to hang out. I wonder if it's still there. By the way, I keep up at Christmas with Lupkes, Davis, Hebert, Wagner, Argall, Kintzer, Christle and Duhr, in case those names ring any bells. Maybe a final item of interest is the 55th Fighter Sq. and 20th FW (they dropped Tactical) are now located at Shaw AFB, in Sumter, SC. Last I heard, they're flying F16's. CHEERS!!!
